Text to Speech feature
Nitro PDF Pro allows users to access text content in PDF files through the Microsoft Text-to-Speech technology built into Windows.
To start and stop Text to Speech
- Open a document in Nitro PDF Pro.
- Press Ctrl + Enter to enable Text to Speech.
- The first audible message will announce the current page number followed by a reading of the text on the page.
- To stop Text to Speech, press Ctrl + Enter again.
To pause and resume Text to Speech
- While the page content is being read, press your Space bar to pause the reading.
- To resume reading from where it was paused, press Space again.
To read the previous or next paragraph
- To read the previous paragraph, press Left Shift + Space.
- To skip the current paragraph, press Right Shift + Space.
To repeat the current paragraph
- To read the current paragraph again, press right Ctrl+Space on your keyboard.
To Configure Text to Speech in Windows
Do one of the following:

In the Windows Start menu, type "change text to speech settings" into the search box, and click the top result.
Or
- In the Windows Start menu, click Control Panel.
- In the Control Panel click Speech Recognition.
Here you can configure settings such as voice type and reading speed. Click Apply, and then click OK to close the dialogue.
