Nitro PDF Pro Accessibility Tools
With the release of Nitro PDF Pro 14 for Windows, our users have the ability to create PDF documents that comply with the WCAG 2.1 and PDF/UA standards. These features and compliance ensure PDFs created in Nitro PDF Pro have the ability to be accessible to people with disabilities, including those who use screen readers and other assistive technologies.
We recommend using a PDF accessibility checker, such as PAC, to help you assess your progress in making your document accessible. The PDF Accessibility Checker (PAC) is freeware, hosted by the PDF/UA Foundation, that one can use for PDF accessibility testing.
An artifact in a PDF document is a type of element used to provide visual structure but is not meant to be read or interacted with by screen readers or other assistive technologies.
Examples of artifacts in a PDF document might include decorative images, background colors, and other design elements used to enhance the document's visual appearance. They do not provide any meaningful information to the user.
