How to disable the Internet Access Preferences in Nitro PDF Pro for Windows

Starting with the release of Nitro PDF Pro for Windows version 14.27.2.0, it became possible to disable the Internet Access Preferences options within Nitro PDF Pro. Enforcing consistent settings can help ensure adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies in environments with strict compliance requirements. To change this setting, you will need to modify your system registry, which should only be done by qualified IT personnel.

To disable the Internet Access Preferences Nitro PDF Pro please modify (in some cases you may also have to create this key) the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Nitro\PDF Pro\14\settings\internet_access_force_disabled

Possible values:
  • /b 1 - Blocks all internet access starting from files opened in PDF Pro, and the setting will be hidden in Preferences (behavior is on)
  • /b 0 - Allows internet access and shows the setting in Preferences (behavior is off)

By default, internet access will be allowed, and the setting is visible in Preferences.

Disabling Internet Access: When set to
/b 1, internet access starting from files opened in PDF Pro will be blocked, the Internet Access setting will not be visible in Preferences, and the kPrefInternetAccessBehaviour  Registry Key value will be overridden.
