Watermark Tool

The Watermark tool allows one to insert text, images, and other PDF files into one or more pages of a PDF document. The Watermark tool has the ability to adjust the position, size, opacity, and other properties of the watermark, and you can save them for reuse.

 - Click on the Page Layout  tab >  Watermark .  The  Manage Watermarks & Backgrounds  dialogue appears:

  1. See the Select profile section for a list of watermark profiles.  (Profiles can contain more than one watermark).
  2. To see all watermarks in a profile, click the + button beside the profile.
  3. Configure / Manage your watermark profiles as follows:
    • Rename a profile by double-clicking it and entering a new name.
    • Create a new profile by clicking New Profile.  Enter a name for the new profile.
    • The order of this list determines the order of the profiles in the Apply to Document menu.
    • To delete a watermark profile, select a profile and click Delete.
  4. To apply a watermark profile to our PDF, close the Manage Watermarks & Backgrounds dialog, select a profile, and click Apply.


 

Adding and applying a new watermark or background to a profile

  1. Click on the Page Layout tab > Watermark
    1. Text: enter text for your watermark.
    2. Image: use an image to use as a watermark or background for your pages.
    3. PDF: import a PDF file to use as a watermark or page background.
  2. Configure properties for your watermark or background:
    • In the Watermark name field, enter a name. This name can be different from the text that appears in a watermark in your PDF document.
    • Specify whether it is an Overlay (on top of any content, such as text) or an Underlay (in the background, behind any content).
    • Other options for the color, background, and placement of the watermark or background
  3. Click Save to add the new watermark or background to the selected profile.


 

Importing or exporting a watermark profile

  1. Click on the Page Layout tab > Watermark.
  • To import a watermark, click Import.  When you import a .nxp file, the new profile is added to the end of the list of profiles.
  • To export a watermark, select a profile in the Select profile list, and click Export. Save the profiles as an .nxp file.


 

Removing all watermarks and backgrounds from a document

  1. Click on the Page Layout tab > click the down arrow under Watermark > Remove Watermarks.

  2. Click OK.
