Maintaining Order When Combining Files From Windows Explorer:

Follow these steps to combine the files in a specific order:

  • Open Windows File Explorer and navigate to documents to combine
  • Select multiple files (select in any order) right-click and choose "Combine Files with Nitro PDF Pro"
  • In the Combine dialogue box within Nitro PDF Pro, the file order will start with the last file selected before right-clicking on them. If for example, File '5' is the last file selected out of 15, the order will proceed as 5-15, 1-4. If File '15' is the last file selected, the order will proceed as 15, 1-14.  If one wants the files to appear as 1-15, please ensure File '1' is the last one selected.
  • Similarly, if one uses Drag and Drop from Windows File Explorer into the Nitro PDF Pro Combine window, whichever file one clicks on to drag the selected folders will be in the #1 spot.  For example, if you drag the files by clicking on File '5', the order in the Combine window will be 5-15, 1-4.
